[First Impression] Hope Girl's Back to School Memebox!

Believe it or not, this is my first ever Memebox. They'd been something that I'd considered for a really long time but only just got around to actually trying.

For my first box, I thought I should go for a box that with which I had some idea of what was going to be in it, but with products or a brand that I hadn't tried before, so I could have the surprise of the quality of the products; without getting a bad first impression of Memebox themselves by getting products that I would never want or use.

That's why I chose the Hope Girl collab box! It was a completely pre-unboxed box, meaning that the contents were displayed and not a secret, but since I'd never used Hope Girl products before, I still didn't really know what to expect.

Nude Skin Color Control CC Cream ($31)

I'd tried a few CC creams prior to this one, and I'd found that they were either a love or a hate. I can say for certain that this definitely airs more on the side of love. It's a fantastic CC cream with light buildable coverage and a glowing finish. It matches itself perfectly to my skintone and has become somewhat of a staple in my daily routine (maybe even rivaling my all-time favourite CC cream from The Saem).

Milky Balm Lipstick OR306 'Grapefruit Juice' ($22)

A moisturizing lipstick in a pretty coral colour. It's almost ideal since I'd been looking for a lipstick in this colour recently.  I say 'almost' ideal because whilst it is a good lipstick; it does fall short when it comes to stay power. Hope Girl advertise it as lasting for ten hours, which may be true if  you don't eat anything or drink anything or talk at all or move your lips in the slightest; otherwise this lipstick will smudge and wipe off and need reapplying pretty often. 

Tin Tin Star Eyeshadow BR03 Purple Brown ($10)

Probably my least favourite product in this box for several reasons. First of all I just don't like mono shadows. I'm kind of obsessive when it comes to keeping things tidy and mono shadows clutter up my vanity table and stress me out. I end up having to keep them in little containers, hidden away in drawers so that they don't make me have some kind of clutter-induced fit. Personal quirks aside, this is a pretty average eyeshadow. The colour is a maroon-brown shade with a slight shimmer and the pigmentation is decent.

Nail Travel Bling Bling Set 09 Neutral Aura ($14)

This is a gradient nail kit and, I have to admit, I was really excited about this product. The colours blend together well to make a really effective gradient, and I'm not even ashamed to admit that when I tried it out I almost squealed at how well it worked, it was like magic! Quality wise the polishes are pretty good, they dry fast and don't chip or peel easily; overall a great product.

Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil 02 Brown ($18)

Honestly, I don't really use pencil or kohl liners all too often. Being waterproof and coming with a Hope Girl pencil sharpener gives this some bonus points, but they're still not exactly something I buy. However I did find a slightly unorthodox use for this liner in particular. I tried it out as a brow pencil and it works fantastically! It applies smoothly and doesn't smudge; so if you use eyeliner pencils, or are looking for a good brow filler, this is definitely a recommendation.






So that's the Hope Girl box wrapped up! Overall I think this is a really solid box; especially for the price, once you consider that you're basically getting a full face of makeup you realize how good of a deal this is, even if it's not the most exciting or quirky box.
